I started reading J.D.Robb in March and it's been a revelation and a learning experience as a writer. I'm finding myself reading on two levels, as a reader immersed in the story and as a writer wanting to improve. I think it's working on the inprovement part. I've started new rewrites to my first Reborn by Blood manuscript and I'm encouraged.
I've been devouring the "In Death" books, averaging 5 books a month.
Whenever I'm completely caught in a scene or moved by it I re-read it and ask myself "What did it in her writing? How did she move me?"
Decades ago I would have raised my nose on books by Nora Roberts/J.D.Robb I now find myself humbled by truly passionate writing.
